Morning Link-O-Rama, November 12

Somewhat sparse offerings today, but we’ll make do.

The Google Street View car captures another bizarre set of images after a FIRE TRUCK HITS AN OLD LADY AND KEEPS GOING.  The lesson here is apparently don’t eff with firemen in The Netherlands.

Kotaku has a round-up of some of the best suits Mario has used throughout his long history, plus some proposed new ones.  I really need to get Super Mario Galaxy after seeing the bee suit.

In a recent interview, Stephen King said he’s planning on writing another Dark Tower book.  Not sure what to make of this.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely read it, but that story is certainly over.  Side note – that link came from Sean Collins’ blog, where he linked to his own complete review of ALL of the Dark Tower books.  Makes me want to go back and read them all over again.

AMC’s miniseries remake of The Prisoner starts Sunday night, which you should know about, because you should have been watching Mad Men this season, and they’ve been overloading viewers with promos lately.  I’ve been watching the original in preparation for the new version, along with Zack Handlen’s reviews at the A.V. Club, and while I can’t wait to see what they come up with, it’s going to be nearly impossible to eclipse the original in everyone’s eyes.  Here’s a link to a very cool  interactive map of The Village provided by AMC.

Also over at the A.V. Club, they’ve started their “best of the decade” lists.  This week was TV, inspiring passionate comments, as always.  I’ll probably be steering clear of the insane pretentiousness of the commenters once music week starts.  But, the TV lists remind me that I have plenty of shows to add to my own personal must-watch queue.  Like The Shield, I always forget about The Shield.

And finally, in warm-your-heart-until-it-melts news, here’s a collection of videos over at Mental Floss comprised solely of dogs’ reactions to their masters arrving home from being overseas in the military.  Try not to smile while you’re watching any of these.  Dogs Welcoming Home Soldiers

And yes, I know about the title.  It’s still morning on the West Coast, ok?
